It may be the end of September, but it still feels like Summer, doesn’t it? As Sam Houston once so wisely said, “Well, that’s what you get when you live in a swamp.” No, Sam Houston didn’t say that. Or I guess he could have said that, but they didn’t have YouTube back then, so Sam Houston probably said a lot of things we don’t know about – like, “Wow, this is really good Mexican Food,” or “I hate Bud Adams – I hope he moves to Tennessee,” or “Will they ever finish this construction on the Gulf Freeway?” – and lots of other highly disrespectful and personally embarrassing things that people can capture on their cell phones these days. All I can say is, “I sure am glad I was young and stupid back before the Internet was invented.” And I’m especially thankful I’m not the poor, underpaid, unappreciated spin doctor who has to explain away Hillary Clinton’s emails or Donald Trump’s tax returns. Don’t worry! I’m not gonna go all “Sean Hannity” on ya’ here – this is still The Outdoor Cooking Show, and we’re going to continue to focus on your taste buds, not your political tastes. But, I will say this – today’s show may very well drive you to drink, because that’s what we’re going to focus on today – the perfect beverage to go with your perfectly cooked meal.
