Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! You know what they say about Thanksgiving, right?  Thanksgiving: bringing dysfunctional American families together since 1621.  Actually, my family was anything but dysfunctional.  I lived an absolutely idyllic childhood.  My Dad was a banker and my Mother was a stay-at-home mom.  I grew up in the 50s, and life was pretty carefree.  We lived about a mile away from TCU in Fort Worth, and it wasn’t unusual at all for me come home from elementary school on my bike, quickly do my homework and run out the door to go watch my Frog football heroes practice.  My Mother’s only instructions were to be home before dark and in time for dinner.  I’d pedal my bike up to TCU practice field and sit on the sidelines and watch people like Bob Lilly and Sonny Gibbs practice for the next weekend’s game.  Not a care in the world.
