“Look out football, here we come – Houston Oilers, number one!” Well, it darn sure ain’t the Houston Texans, now is it? Even when the Super Bowl is right here in our own backyard, and we don’t have to pay for a flight to another big NFL city, or a hotel room that they’ve jacked up in price by 150% for Super Bowl week – most of us still can’t afford it. Do you know what nosebleed tickets cost for the Super Bowl at NRG next weekend? $4000 – and that’s face value! Stub Hub is already listing scalped tickets in the upper deck for $5000, and if you want a primo seat it can easily cost three times that much. Yep, $15,000 each! That’s why under 100 thousand people will watch the Super Bowl live in NRG Stadium, and over 100 million people will watch the game on TV. And that brings us around to the topic of conversation on today’s edition of The Outdoor Cooking Show – what to serve your guests at a Super Bowl watching party, because that’s how most of us will see the Super Bowl – even when it’s being played right here in our hometown.
