They’re baaack! No, I’m not talkin’ about Poltergeist – I mean the Astros – I mean, “Your Defending World Series Champion Houston Astros,” of course. We’ve been huge Astros fans for almost four decades in the Hames Household, and my late father-in-law JW Webb goes all the way back to the days of the Colt 45s – and Papaw wasn’t even a Houstonian. Heck, he wasn’t even a Texan – he was from Louisiana, but the Astros were always his team, and he loved to watch them, any chance he got. My father-in-law was a traditionalist. He believed baseball was a game that was designed to be played while eating a good old fashioned hot dog – a Dome Dog. And who doesn’t love a corn dog? The first iterations of the corn dog didn’t have a stick, but it didn’t take long for somebody to come up with that idea – around 1946.
